Rock wool

Rock wool is an amorphous silicate produced from rock and it is a very versatile material which is mainly used in the construction industry. Its properties derive from its downy macroscopic structure which deadens sound and, given that it incorporates large amounts of air, provides heat insulation. It also withstands very high temperatures thanks to its elevated heat resistance. Rock wool is also very cheap and this makes it preferable to other types of insulation.
